MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 21ST

AUGUST 2008 IN BACKWELL PARISH HALL, AT 1900 HOURS

054      The minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held on 17th July 2008, copies having been circulated, were confirmed as a correct record by those present at that meeting and signed the Chairman.

 

5.         TO NOTE PLANNING APPLICATION RESOLUTIONS OF PARISH COUNCIL

            OF 7TH AUGUST 2008

 

a.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 08/P/1536/F - 27 CHURCH

            TOWN, BACKWELL - MR D HERRING - Erection of a first floor

            extension with external steps to garage roof, infill at ground level with new

            entrance and steps.  Terrace formed to garage roof with balustrade, following

            the demolition of existing timber balcony (amendments to 07/P/2074/F).

            Resolved: Unanimous no objection

 

            b.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 08/P/1589/F - SEA VIEW,

            BACKWELL - MR G W HODGES - Erection of a single storey side extension

            Resolved: Unanimous no objection

 

            c.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 08/P/1602/F - THE FIRS,

            CHURCH TOWN, BACKWELL - MR & MRS NOLAN - Erection of a

            roof extension to create a gable with balcony to north west elevation and

            addition of new window to south west elevation

            Resolved: Unanimous no objection

 

            d.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 08/P/1617/F - 131A FARLEIGH

            ROAD, BACKWELL - MR J TATE - Erection of a double garage, alterations

            to front porch/canopy, replacement windows/doors, conversion of loft to include

            2 no. dormer windows, rear conservatory and patio, new solar heating panels and        

            alterations to front elevation to change wall finish to render

            Resolved: Unanimous no objection to the dwelling but the Council do object

            to the overdevelopment of the double garage on the frontage

 

            e.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 08/P/1642/F - COOMBE

            BUNGALOW, DOWNSIDE ROAD, DOWNSIDE - MR N WEDLAKE -

            Demolition of existing bungalow and erection of a replacement dwelling

            Resolved: Unanimous no objection

            d.    PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 08/P/1738/LUE - THE GARAGE

            FLAT, OLD FARM, DOWNSIDE ROAD, BACKWELL -

            MR C CHALMERS -Certificate of Lawful use for the garage/annexe to be used

            as a self contained flat

7.         CLLR T COLLINSON - 1 BACKWELL COMMON - UPDATE

061      Cllr Collinson informed members that the result of the Appeal would probably be

            published within the next 2 to 3 weeks

 

8.         CLLR T COLLINSON - CHURCH TOWN TRAFFIC SIGNS

062      Cllr Collinson reported that he had been informed by local residents that the two

            way sign in Church Town had disappeared

            Resolved: Noted

 

 

 

9.         SECRETARY OF STATE'S PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE REGIONAL

            SPATIAL STRATEGY FOR THE SOUTH WEST (Consultation period

            ends Friday 17th October 2008)

063      Cllr Collinson said a report would be prepared in connection with the proposed

            Changes

 

There being no further business the Chairman thanked everybody for attending and closed the meeting at 1920 hours.
