MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 18TH

JUNE 2009 IN BACKWELL PARISH HALL, AT 1900 HOURS

 

PRESENT: Cllrs R Drew (Chairman), C Pope, T Collinson, R Mason, S Ould, S Miller,

M Gibbons-Price and the Clerk Mrs J Stone

 

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC: None

 

1.         TO ELECT A CHAIRMAN

028      Cllr R Mason proposed Cllr R Taylor, seconded by Cllr S Miller.  There were no other

nominations, and Cllr R Taylor was elected         in his absence as Chairman of the Planning Committee.  Cllr R Drew was nominated as Chairman in Cllr R Taylor's absence.

029      Resolved: Unanimously Cllr R Drew act as Chairman for this meeting

 

2.         TO RECEIVE THE CHAIRMAN'S DECLARATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICE OR, IF NOT THEN RECEIVED, TO DECIDE WHEN IT SHALL BE RECEIVED

030      In the absence of the Chairman, Cllr R Taylor, the Declaration of Acceptance of Office

            shall be received at the next Planning Meeting on Thursday 16th July 2009

6.         MINUTES

The minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held on 16.4.09, copies having been

circulated were confirmed as a correct record by those present at that meeting and signed by

7.         TO RECEIVE AND CONSIDER EMAIL FROM NSC DATED 1.6.09 RE CORE STRATEGY

037      Cllr T Collinson's members were noted by members, and it was also noted that there would be a delay in the publication of the RSS

 

8.         TO NOTE PLANNING APPLICATION RESOLUTIONS OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 4TH JUNE 2009

 

a.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 09/P/0784/F - SUMMERVALE,MOOR LANE, BACKWELL - MR D ABRUZZO - Erection of an extension and alterations to existing storage building to create additional residential storage

Resolved: Although Backwell Parish Council have been informed that this application has been withdrawn, we have great concern that this proposed Residential Storage Unit has already been started.  It was felt that because there has been several planning applications and amendments, we would strongly suggest that an Enforcement Officer pay a visit to this property to establish what has been done with which application, and what has been completed.  Majority decision, 1 abstention.

 

                        b.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 09/P/0786/F - 13 STATION

ROAD, BACKWELL - MR C HOOPER - Erection of single and two storeyside and rear extensions following demolition of existing single storey side extensions and rear conservatory (Amendment to planning approval 08/P/2474/F)

                        Resolved: By a majority decision no objection.  1 abstention.

 

c.         PLANNING APPLICATION NO. 09/P/0807/F - BEECHWOOD, POTTERS HILL, BACKWELL - MR B SHORT - Erection of a two bedroom dwelling following the demolition of existing dwelling

Resolved: By a majority decision Backwell Parish Council strongly object to its design, as it does not comply with GDP/3.  1 abstention.

                  use from Health Club to ancillary communal residential use (facilities for

                  residents of flats 1 - 8)

040                  Resolved: By a majority vote no objection.  1 abstention

                  TOWN ROAD, BACKWELL - MR WILLIAMS - Erection of single

                  storey front extension to form ancillary living accommodation

                  Erection of a two storey side extension

There being no further business the Chairman thanked everybody for attending and closed the meeting at 1920 hours.
