4. Minutes
The minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held on 15.10.09 copies having been
circulated were confirmed as a correct record by those present at that meeting and signed

5. Update on Planning Appeal No. APP/DO121/A/09/2108002/NWF Mr R Walker -
Cherry Wood Stables, Backwell Hill Road, Backwell
The Chairman updated members on Mr Walker's recent planning appeal, which has
been dismissed.

6. To consider letter from North Somerset Council dated 4th November 2009 regarding
Planning Appeals APP/DO121/E/09/2115607/WF and APP/DO121/A/09/2115608/WF
94 Church Lane, Backwell - Mr J Moore - Erection of a single storey extension to
garage (appeal deadline for comments 11th December 2009)
071 Members discussed this appeal, and as Backwell Parish Council had not objected in the first
place they did not wish to make any additional comments.
7. To consider the following Planning Applications:-
a. Planning Application No. 09/P/1849/F - Backwell C of E Vc Junior School, Church Lane, Backwell - Backwell C of E Junior School -
Replacement of single glazed windows with double glazed polyester
coated aluminium windows and replacement cladding to north west
elevation of main building.
Resolved: Unanimously no objection
b. Planning Application No. 09/P/1861/ADV - 2 -4 Dark
Lane, Backwell - Britannia Spice - To illuminate 2 no. advertising fascia signs with trough lights with low level illumination.

Resolved: Unanimously Backwell Parish Council objects as it is
concerned that the mirror finish of the lettering could reflect the
light outwards and cause a possible distraction to drivers.
c. Planning Application No. 09/P/1880/WT - The Manor House,
Chelvey Road, Backwell - Mr D Guy - T1 - Horse Chestnut - Thin crown
by 25% and reduce from property back to previous reduction points.
Resolved: Unanimously no objection
d. Planning Application No. 09/P/1883/F - The Glade, Church Town, Backwell - Mr & Mrs S Pitchers - Erection of a two-storey front extension following demolition of water tower.
Resolved: Unanimously no objection.
There being no further business the Chairman thanked everybody for attending and closed the
meeting at 1914 hours.
