MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 15TH

APRIL 2010 IN BACKWELL PARISH HALL, BACKWELL, AT 1900 HOURS

4. Minutes

The minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held on 18.3.10, copies having been

previously circulated, were confirmed as a correct record by those present at that meeting

020 and signed by the Chairman.

 

5. To consider Consultation received from North Somerset Council "Travel Plans - Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) (Draft)". Response deadline 16th May 2010. Document available for viewing in Parish Office.

6. To consider the following Planning Applications:-

 

a. Planning Application No. 10/P/0472/F4- The Shelter,

Downside Road, Backwell - Mr S McLoughlin - Application for

the extension of time limit to planning permission 07/P/0618/F for

the conversion of existing outbuildings to create an ancillary living

accommodation with 3 no. parking spaces.

022 Resolved: Unanimously Backwell Parish Council has no comment

to make.

 

b. Planning Application No. 10/P/0501/F - 55 Station Road,

Backwell - Mr & Mrs R Bonney - Extension of hip roof to gable

ends with conversion of roofspace to living accommodation. Erection

of a ground floor extension to infill veranda.

023 Resolved: Unanimously Backwell Parish Council is of the opinion

that the proposed hip roof extension is an inappropriate design and

has a bulky appearance, which does not respect the character of the

dwelling and does not integrate well with the existing roof design.

This proposal would not enhance the neighbouring bungalows.

c. Planning Application No. 10/P/0504/F - Backwell Hill House,

Backwell Hill, Backwell - Mr A Follett - Change of use from D2

health club (basement, ground and first floor) and 8 no. residential

apartments (first and second floor) to C1 hotel use throughout (no

internal or external alterations).

024 Resolved: Unanimously no objection and Backwell Parish Council

recommends acceptance, as it would encourage employment in the

locality.

 

d. Planning Application No. 10/P/0506/F - 6 St Andrews Road,

Backwell - Mr Alan Ferrier - Erection of a single storey side and

rear extension.

025 Resolved: Unanimously no objection.

 

There being no further business the Chairman thanked everybody for attending and closed the meeting at 1912 hours
