Backwell Parish Council understands that the lengthy roadworks on Farleigh Road, originally scheduled to last 12 weeks from 23rd September 2024, have now reached 20 weeks due to unforeseen delays. Persimmon is currently waiting for Bristol Water to complete their service connection before proceeding with the final surfacing. Once this is done, Persimmon will need approval from North Somerset Highways to complete the remaining work. Summary of Roadworks Schedule: Traffic management will be removed today until 9th March Back in place for Bristol Water’s work from 9th – 12th March Removed again until final surfacing is scheduled (date TBC) We’ll share any updates as soon as we receive them!

Planning Committee Agenda Thursday 21st November 2024
Cllr Hilary Power has spoken with Elaine Bowman from North Somerset Council who is dealing with our application to have the 'Jubilee Stone' track designated as a footpath. You will remember that we submitted 100+ statements to support our application. Unfortunately Elaine has advised Cllr Power that with the volume of work and other applications we are unlikely to have a decision soon. In fact, we may have to wait a year or more. Important - if you did not make a statement when we first started the process, you still can. Anything you can tell us about your use of the track across the field between Cherry/ Piggy Lane and the [...]
