North Somerset Council TRO Consultation – Rural Lanes, prohibition of motor vehicles (except access)
Dear Residents
Proposal by North Somerset Council to prohibit motor vehicles using Backwell Bow and Backwell Common
Please find attached documents (below) relating to a proposal by North Somerset Council (NSC) to implement a “prohibition of motor vehicles” restriction on the network of rural lanes between Nailsea, Clevedon and Yatton and around Backwell. This is part of a Consultation process and is the opportunity for residents to respond to NSC with their views for or against this proposal.
The proposal is intended to encourage active travel on the lanes by prohibiting use by through traffic, while maintaining access to homes and businesses along the affected roads. However, any such changes will inevitably have an impact on the rest of Backwell as traffic that currently uses Backwell Common will be required to take alternative routes.
Details of how to respond to the consultation can be found on the “Notice of Intent attachment”. The closing date for comments or objections is 30 April 2021.
Backwell Parish Council (BPC) encourages all residents to take this opportunity to have their say and respond to NSC’s proposals. BPC will review all your comments in order to help us formulate our official response to NSC.
Many thanks
Backwell Parish Council
