Application for 65 dwellings at Rodney Road, Backwell
At the North Somerset Council P&R committee meeting on 21st September, North Somerset Council voted to approve this application, in a Split Vote.
Chair of Backwell Parish Council Sarah Ould and District Councillor Bridget Petty both spoke to the committee against this application and raised the concerns of the community.
The lack of a 5-year land supply was discussed as being the main reason for approval, as NSC cannot afford to lose anymore appeals from developers.
Taylor Wimpey will now need to work with NSC (and hopefully representatives from Backwell ) to ensure that access to this development is safe and not intrusive to the neighbouring properties.
