038 The minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held on 19.3.15 were confirmed as a correct record by those present at that meeting
5. To consider the following Planning Applications:
a. Planning application no. 15/P/0689/F 2 Hilldale Road, Backwell –
Loft conversion with dormers to the front, side and rear – Mrs
N Simmonite
039 Resolved: Unanimously no objection.
b. Planning application no. 15/P/0719/HHPA The Woodhouse, Backwell
Common, Backwell – Prior approval request for the erection of a single storey rear extension that would 1) extend beyond the rear wall of the original house to 8 metres; 2) have a maximum height of 3.4 metres and 3) have eaves that are 2.7 metres high – Aspect360
040 Resolved: By a majority vote Backwell Parish Council objects, as it does not comply with North Somerset Council’s Green Belt Policy. 1 abstention.
c. Planning application no. 15/P/0744/LDE Gramarose Yard, Corner
of Long Lane and Backwell Hill Road, Backwell – Certificate of
Lawful Use Existing for the use of land for mixed use of forestry,
B8 storage and commercial haulage – Mr S Davis, c/o Agent
041 Resolved: Unanimously Backwell Parish Council objects, as it does not comply with North Somerset Council’s Green Belt Policy.
d. Planning application no. 15/P/0746/F 1 The Green, Backwell –
Replace existing hedge with stone wall with natural stone piers and
vertical close board timber panels. Widen the access point and to
form a further off street parking area with a new sliding timber gate –

042 Resolved: Unanimously no objection, but Backwell Parish Council would request that the Planning Officer take note that it is the removal of a hedge in a
conservation area.
e. Planning application no. 15/P/0750/F 19 Mulberry Close, Backwell –
Two storey side and a single storey rear extensions – Mr & Mrs Sowden
