a. Planning application no. 17/P/2033/F 3 Westfield Close, Backwell
Loft extension – Mr R Dowling
070 Resolved: Unanimously no objection
b. Planning application no. 17/P/2052/F 18 Fernside, Backwell
Addition of two rooflights – Mr Anthony Belsey
071 Resolved: Unanimously no objection
c. Planning application no. 17/P/2064/MMA 2 Waverley Road, Backwell – Minor material amendment to application 16/P/0141/F (Erection of a two storey dwelling with associated car parking and landscaping. Creation of new vehicular access onto Waverley Road) to allow for amendments to fenestration and external finish – Mr Mikkleson
072 Resolved: Unanimously Backwell Parish Council object to this planning application on the grounds that it is not as stated a minor material amendment, but in fact a significant variation to the previously granted planning application 16/P/0141/F. The proposed changes to the site access location are not in accordance with acceptable design standards, and would lead to potential safety hazards being so close to the junction with Station Road and will be to the detriment of other road users. The changes proposed to the front fenestration and external finish will be out of character in terms of appearance, detailing and materials, will have an adverse visual impact of the development within the locality and have a detrimental effect on the character of the existing local area especially that side of Waverley Road. The Parish Council are also not convinced about the access and parking arrangements (very small area at the front of the property which does not seem to be cordoned off in front of the existing no. 2 as depicted in the drawings), but if NSC are minded to grant approval BPC would strongly urge that an NSC Planning Officer should visit the site before giving their response
073 There being no further business the Chairman thanked everybody for attending and closed the meeting at 1910 hours
