Bus Service Improvement Plan – A message from North Somerset Council

Survey works taking place in Backwell - Thursday 12 September 2024 North Somerset Council would like to make you aware that survey work will be taking place overnight in Backwell this coming Thursday 12 September. Starting at 8.00pm on Thursday, and running until 5.00am on Friday 13 September, surveyors will be out conducting technical surveys of the A370 crossroads area, including Station Road and Dark Lane. This means there will a short period of temporary traffic lights needed to help support the team’s safety on the road while this work is taking place. Please note, this survey work is vital to enable North Somerset Council gather technical information about the local area. The data gathered is part of the analysis needed to help inform any appropriate changes to the infrastructure at this location. This does not mean that any scheme works are starting.

Farleigh Fields Local Green Space

Update – 8th October 2024 At our recent meeting, the Parish Council agreed that we were happy to proceed with Persimmon Homes’ offer to let us take control of a Local Green Space on Farleigh Fields for future community use. Understandably this has led to significant interest in the village as people wonder what the options are for this important piece of land. Earlier this year, the Parish Council set up a working party to look into this, with a brief of ensuring that any venture did not expose us to significant financial risk and administrative burden for now and in the long term future, and that any amenity would provide significant social benefit to the whole of the village.
