10th June 1921 – 9th April 2021 Sarah Ould, Chair, expresses the sadness of Backwell Parish Council and the residents of Backwell at the news of the death of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. More information about COVID aware national events / funeral arrangements and an e-book of condolence were available on the Royal website (www.royal.uk). North Somerset Council TRO Consultation - Rural Lanes, prohibition of motor vehicles (except access) Dear Residents Proposal by North Somerset Council to prohibit motor vehicles using Backwell Bow and Backwell Common Please find attached documents (below) relating to a proposal by North Somerset Council (NSC) to implement a “prohibition of motor vehicles” restriction on the network of rural lanes between Nailsea, Clevedon and Yatton and around Backwell. This is part of a Consultation process and is the opportunity for residents to respond to NSC with their views for or against this proposal. The proposal is intended to encourage active travel on the lanes by prohibiting use by through traffic, while maintaining access to homes and businesses along the affected roads. However, any such changes will inevitably have an impact on the rest of Backwell as traffic that currently uses Backwell Common will be required to take alternative routes. Details of [...]
